I have a gantry based template that has top positions (a.b,c) I am using for logo, menu etc. I want the whole section from the top which is defined by a div in the template to be sticky. Can I apply the sticky class suffix to a <div>? IF so how?

You can specify the class of div you want to be sticky.
Let's use firebug on firebug then inspect the element, you will see it's class/id.
